In the midst of life’s challenges and disappointments, we seek a message of hope — light that fills the darkness, good that triumphs over evil, and life that conquers even death. This is the story of Easter. No matter who you are, what you have been through or where you are coming from, we welcome you to share in this celebration of hope.

The first $100,000 from this year’s Easter offering will fund grants to two organizations that are changing the lives of refugees settling in the Kansas City community.
Project SOAR
Project SOAR (Strengthening Opportunities for Adolescent Refugees) will receive an $80,000 grant. Project SOAR focuses on initiatives that address the mental health and education needs of school-age children impacted by resettlement. It is a program of Jewish Vocational Services, a non-denominational agency that resettles nearly 500 refugees each year.
Della Lamb Community Services
A $20,000 grant will support Della Lamb Community Services’ 91+ Days Support Program, which assists refugee families with housing, job training and placement, learning English and more.
